About Bel Canto Music Society
The Bel Canto Music Society was founded in 1967 by Madam Lola Young, a renowned soprano returned from Italy. This Society is noted for its outstanding achievement both in vocal and instrumental concerts. The aim for the society is to promote and cultivate musical interest for the benefit of local promising singers. Ample opportunities are given for public performances. Master classes and concerts are also organised for members of this society and other interested parties. Famous international artists from Italy, Japan, France, China and Austria had been invited to hold such classes and perform in concerts with much satisfaction. This non-profit making organisation is made up of music lovers from the medical, architectural, educational, legal, commercial and religious sectors. At the concerts presented by the Urban and Regional Councils, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, churches, commercial and charitable societies, the “Bel Canto “ singers always enjoyed rapturous acclaim.
