A shipwreck causes a pair of twins, Viola and Sebastian, to be separated; a nobleman falls in love with a great lady who simply cannot stand him; boisterous revellers disrupt that lady's house; her pompous butler tries to exceed his duty and gets his come - uppance; and a clown's fooling show that he is the only really wise one among them all.
Those are the ingredients of Shakespeare's greatest comedy. Twelfth Night or What You Will, to give its full title. Humorous situations arise when the twins are mistaken for one another, especially when the noble lady, Olivia, falls in love with Viola, who is dressed as a man, and who herself is filled with love for the nobleman, Orsino. Confusion and hilarity reign in abundance!
