Theatre for early years (TEY) is a professional theater performance designed for children aged 0-3 years old. It combines concepts of drama, movement, dance, music and art installation to create theatre experience for toddle or kid. Ming Ri invites Lise Hovik, the Associate Professor in Norway Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education, DMMH and Artistic Director of Teater Fot, to introduce TEY and share her practical experience.

Lise Hovik
Lise Hovik has been a drama teacher by profession, from 1996 at Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education, DMMH, and since 2014 also associate professor and researcher. Her Ph.D is about theatre for Early Years, and is based on her artistic research project The Red Shoes. The study investigated performative aesthetics with theories of play and improvisation De Røde Skoene. Her article based thesis is written in Norwegian, with one article in English. The whole work is available on NTNU Open.
Lise Hovik has been a professional adviser in several artistic councils and boards; Art Council Norway Norsk Kulturråd (2016-17), board of UNIMA-Norway (2011-14), and board of ASSITEJ Norway (2012-16). She has been the research leader of SceSam – interactive dramaturgies in performing arts for children (2012-15), and together with general manager Lisa Nagel published articles (The SceSam Project, Youth Theatre Journal 2016), and books on this topic.
