Percussion takes centre stage! Over 50 Western and Eastern instruments, some of them relatively unfamiliar, feature in a mind-blowing family concert by renowned percussionist Li Biao and his percussion ensemble. Drum pantomime, ragtime, funky beats, rhythmic imaginations from Europe, Africa and the Balkan Peninsula… Together with your children and loved ones, experience the world of percussion first-hand through drum sticks, arms, legs and the whole body!

Li Biao Percussion Group was founded in 2005 by Li, one of the few solo percussionists reputable in the international music scene and the first Chinese percussion professor teaching at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin since 2006. He boasts an extensive repertoire as a soloist and has collaborated with renowned orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bamberger Symphoniker. Together with five talented German and Danish ambassadors of percussion music, Li masters diverse musical styles, bridging classics and contemporary, East and West. Over the last decade, their captivating performances have brought them to seven countries in South America, multiple appearances in China including a recording for the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and to world-class concert halls like the Elbphilharmonie in 2018.
