“Stroke of the Slightest Moment” - Jazz Chamber Music Concert is the finale of the project “Composition and Improvisation”, the prominent Jazz Pianist and Composer Billy Childs is specially invited to exchange and perform with Ensemble Transience. From the attempt to challenge the borders of musical languages, to perfectly articulate the notes with no “accent” that sounds all like nature itself, let the audience experience the eternity in that slightest moment.

Jazz Pianist / Composer Billy Childs and Ensemble Transience Music Director Teriver CHEUNG, accompanied by sensational rhythm section featuring drummer Mark Ferber and bassist Sam Minaie from New York and 7 outstanding Hong Kong chamber musicians, will give unique interpretations of original compositions by Billy Childs.

Billy Childs remains one of the most diversely prolific and acclaimed artists today. Childs’ original compositions and arrangements have garnered him the 2013 Doris Duke Performing Artist Award, a 2009 Guggenheim Fellowship, 16 Grammy nominations and five Grammy awards. He has been also the President of Chamber Music America’s board of directors since 2016.

A Jazz Quartet and a string quartet with saxophone, flute and harp, recreate the intimate dialogue between jazz music and classical music, which grant the project “Composition and Improvisation” a perfect full stop.
