Overview

Behind the conservation of a building is a series of meticulous considerations and decisions that shape how and why it is to be conserved. What basis might be guiding conservation work internationally and locally? To evaluate a heritage building and establish the rationales for its conservation, “heritage values” are crucial concepts as they pinpoint the relationship between conservation and its cultural significance to a place.

Drawing on the conservation principles in The Burra Charter as the basis, Dr. Lee Ho Yin will unpack the process and the meaning behind these concepts. Join us in exploring the different ways of safeguarding our architectural heritage, with principles rooted in heritage values.
