The exhibition “Way of the Sword: Warrior Traditions in China and Italy” explores the warrior and sword traditions in the two countries from the Classical era through to the Early Modern age. The ancient swords, martial arts, and antique books in the exhibition may not be familiar to the general public, and so that is why New Media Curator Professor Jeffrey Shaw brings technology into the exhibition, developing different interactive installations to make the content more easily understood by every visitor.
The exhibition also presents animations by the renowned Visual Effect Director Victor Wong. In collaboration with the City University of Hong Kong, he uses motion capture technology to integrate ancient martial arts with modern animation aesthetics.
