Overview

Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairytale reimagined for the modern age.

Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairytale The Ugly Duckling tells the story of a young unloved bird who grows into a beautiful swan. Perfect as a fable of diversity and inclusion and of being good to other people, the wonderful adaptation of the classic tale by Italian dance company Factory Compagnia Transadriatica is suitable for the whole family. The show had the idea of choosing an actress with Down’s Syndrome (Francesca de Pasquale) for the lead role. She won praise for her acting and dancing in different international children’s theatre festivals.

Diary of an Ugly Duckling is also inspired by the music of Tchaikovsky and tells its story through the medium of graceful dance in a simple yet evocative show. It is a moving and beautiful spectacle that will be loved by audiences of all ages. The same company previously used Cinderella and works from William Shakespeare as the basis for their productions. Don’t miss this opportunity to see an all-embracing, irresistible show!
