Overview

Inclusive conservation puts people, local communities, and their cultures at the centre of global environmental conservation. This talk explores how community-led conservation helps to build resilience to climate change, restore degraded ecosystems, and strengthen connection to culture. Such approaches also empower local people, especially women, and increase opportunities to influence national and global policy.

Specialists from different regional offices of The Nature Conservancy will share their experience and conservation work in Hong Kong, Inner Mongolia, and Indonesia. The Nature Conservancy is a global conservation organisation dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends. Guided by science, it creates innovative, on-the-ground solutions to our world's toughest challenges so that nature and people can thrive together. Working in 75 countries and territories, either by direct conservation impact or through collaborative partners, it engages local communities, governments, the private sector, and other partners.

- The event will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation from English to Cantonese available.
