In recent years, a number of bottom-up civil conservation research projects have attracted public attention. Compared with the government's research focused on building hardware, civil research projects provide a broad range of cultural and humanistic content, and have also brought a lot of attentions to actions and initiatives, some even affected the fate of historic buildings. As the first seminar of UABBHK2022, we will invite 4 well-known conservation/architecture research team members to share the pains and joys behind the research, the relationship between bottom-up research, mass media and traditional research.
