Stephenie Ng

Clarinetist Stephenie Ng started learning the clarinet at the age of 13. A recipient ofnumerous scholarships, she earned a Bachelor degree of music with First ClassHonours at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and pursued master’s anddoctoral degrees in the United State. Her principal teachers include May Lam, John Schertle, Ayako Oshima and Charles Neidich.

As a versatile clarinetist, Stephenie performs frequently as a chamber musician and is interested in rarely-performed repertoire and contemporary music—from performing arrangements of Baroque music with Berkshire Bach Society to music of 21st century American composers Douglas Townsend and Gregg Smith.
Stephenie earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Manhattan School of Music in 2017, where she was appointed the coordinator of Woodwind Lab from 2014-16. She has taken up managerial roles in a variety of musical events and programmes, including the Orchestra Academy Hong Kong, co-directed by the HK Phil and The HKAPA.
