Overview

Though remembering may be a blessing, forgetting is not always sorrowful.
Shall we take a walk down memory lane?

Shakespeare catalogues a man's life in the play ""As You Like It"" into seven ages. The world's a stage; all men and women are merely players, each appearing on the scene on time and leaving accordingly, playing different roles at different ages. From a babbling baby to a shaking old man, staging various ""performances'' in the manner of different ages.

Dongmui is written by Chan Sau Ming, a graduate of Master of Fine Arts in Drama of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, based on the lives she had witnessed when she was working as a psychiatric nurse. The old lady Dongmei is suffering from dementia. In her mind, there are moments she holds dearly and those she is losing. Whether ""remember"" or ""forget"", the choices always accompany happiness and fear. Then we will find out that her memories are also our collective memory. Through the power of theatre and technology, the audience can immerse themselves in the mind of Dongmei.

Guided by Ceri Sherlock, the former Dean of the School of Drama at HKAPA, the Young Talent Incubator Scheme has entered its third year. Themed ""Theatre and Technology"", this year's production is the joint creation of our resident artists and will lead the audience into the time capsule of Dongmei to share the joys and sorrows in her and our memories.
