Xi Shi, Wang Zhaojun, Diao Chan and Yang Yuhuan are acclaimed as the ‘Four Greatest Beauties’ in ancient China, with looks that could cause fish to sink into the bottom of the pond, wild geese to fall from the sky, the moon to dim and flowers to shyly droop their heads. Yet despite their extraordinary beauty and the splendorous lives they led, they also suffered sad fates. The romantic folklore of these beauties will be retold by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in a symphonic dialogue with the young Cantonese Opera star, Lin Yingshi, in this concert
