The Silla kingdom of Korea had a close tie with the Tang dynasty of China for a long time. There were many Korean students who studied abroad in China. Among them, the most celebrated student was CHOE Chiwon. He stayed in China for almost 18 years and was dispatched to Yang Zhou in China to assist in military and political administration for four years. Many East Asian historical texts and stone steles show records of his literary works and footprints in China.

“Science and Art Calligraphy Exhibition 2023" invited renowned scientists and students from different discipli es to create calligraphy artworks and English translation wc rks inspired by the rarely used East Asian historical texts and stone steles. It is hoped that the community can reflect on the wisdom of CHOE Chiwon in the modern society.
