Thinking outside the box and always choosing the unexpected, Wilson Yip has never been limited by conventions. He finds humanity in absurd situations, portrays deep emotions in a leisurely manner, and finds genuine emotions in tough action films. His penchant for against the grain can be seen in his offbeat sense of humour, underlined by criticism of reality and reflexes against impermanence.

Coming just before the release of his latest film The Dream, the Bubble and the Shadow, this ten-film Wilson Yip retrospective is the perfect opportunity to revisit the filmmaker's creative versatility.
