Looking into our digital age, GHOSTED mediates digital intimacy and the hauntological nature of digital connection that make up our lives.
As Tate engages with the materiality of digital spaces, she weaves personal experiences of long distance relationships with close ones through digital (re)connections and malfunctions. How do our identities, relationships and memories destabilise and urge for new interpretations?
Across a series of multimedia artworks, we are enveloped in machine malfunctions and latency that fill the online space with ambiguous in-betweenness, gradually creating a ghostly texture that alludes to the hauntological nature of intimate relationships.
GHOSTED explores the complex evolving dynamics of digital intimacy which underpins relationships today, channeling perhaps a shared angst of our digital times.
