Yaoji Giuseppe Fu

Giuseppe completed his BM from the Juilliard School as class of 2023, and was appointed 2nd trombone of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in January 2023.

Born in Hong Kong, Giuseppe began his trombone journey with Jarod Vermette in 2012. In 2016, he studied with Denson Paul Pollard at Juilliard Pre-College on full scholarship as a bass trombonist, and won the concerto competition of The Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra. In addition, Giuseppe won the George Roberts Bass Trombone Competition at the International Trombone Festival in 2017. He then switched back to tenor trombone under the tutelage of Joseph Alessi. In 2022, he won the concerto competition of the National Repertory Orchestra. Giuseppe performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, under world class conductors including Lorin Maazel, Christoph Eschenbach, and Long Yu.

Giuseppe was the holder of the HK Jockey Club Music & Dance Fund Scholarship, and a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship at Juilliard.
