Cellist Young Eun Kim

Born in Vienna, Austria, cellist Young Eun Kim, who inherited her parents' innate musicality and excellent musical interpretation ability, presents performances with rich musical sensibility. She graduated from Seoul National University's College of Music and Graduate School of Music with honors. Afterwards, she went to the States and received a Master's degree from the Mannes School of Music and a PhD in music from Rutgers State University of New Jersey with the award of a Scholarship.

In addition to winning the IBLA Grand Prize International Competition, the 7th Sejong Music Awards in the performance category of the Sejong Arts and Culture Association, 1st prize at the International Music Association Competition, 1st prize at the Monthly Music Competition, 2nd prize at the Busan MBC Competition, and 2nd prize at the JoongAng Ilbo Competition ( no 1st place ), along with other domestic and international competitions, she received attention from the Guri Symphony Orchestra and the Seocho-gu Council of the Democratic and Peaceful Unification Advisory Committee. Also, by participating in various cello festivals and Asian contemporary music festivals, she has continued to exchange musical talents in various fields.

Recitals at Carnegie Hall in the U.S. and Philharmonic Hall in Germany, Lincoln Center in New York, Music Fairline Golden Hall in Vienna, Austria, Smetana Hall in Prague, Czech Republic, Zagreb Hall in Croatia, Teatro Bibiena in Mantova, Italy, UW Meany Hall in Seattle, Yotsuya Hall in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Uiseuldang, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and Lotte Concert Hall, have shown a soloist who has garnered favorable reviews for her solo recitals and concert performances at leading concert halls in Korea and abroad. Young Eun Kim has performed in the "GIOVANNI ALLEVI & ALL STARS ORCHESTRA" arena in Italy as the cello first-chair, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater New Year's Song Festival' opening performance, trio Inter Nos, Menes Alumni, Quartet Quattro, Su Camerata founding performance, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, the Millennium Symphony Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Chungnam Symphony Orchestra, China Nankai University and Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine University concerts, etc., and is establishing herself as the female virtuoso with deep cello melodies in every performance.

In addition, she has also taken part in the 'Korea-US Friendship Concert' at Olympia Capitol, Washington, USA, Berlin Chamber Orchestra, Ukraine National Symphony Orchestra, Kyiv National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestra, Spain Palau Altea "Concert de L'Orquestra de L'Emporda", Croatia Chamber Orchestra, North Czech Orchestra, Italy L.O.V. symphony orchestra and is also actively engaging in various concert activities in oversea stages such as Europe with the world's leading organizations.

Currently, she is a Professor at the Department of Orchestral Music at the Suwon University College of Music, as well as Dean of the College of Music and the Director of the Graduate School of Music and the Music Academy, focusing on training younger students.
