仁‧塞美拿

Born in 2003 in Prague, Jan Čmejla began playing piano at the age of six and started studying composition at eight. He received his early musical education at the Music School of Ilja Hurník and the Secondary School and Music School of the City of Prague, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Taťána Vejvodová and Lukáš Klánský.

Since 2018, Jan has been studying at the Prague Conservatory under the tutelage of Professor Eva Boguniová. In 2022, he began studying with Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Mannheim.

A prizewinner of over 20 international piano competitions, Jan's accolades include first prizes at the Concertino Praga ( 2019 ), Santa Cecilia ( 2021 ), and the Concours International de Piano d'Epinal ( 2022 ), where he was the youngest participant. He is also a laureate of the Kern Foundation Prize, awarded by renowned Russian pianist Olga Kern.

Jan has made his recital debut in the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and has performed across the United States, including in New York and Chicago, as well as in Canada ( Toronto, Ottawa ). He is part of the Gautier Capuçon Foundation, which supports young artists, and had the opportunity to perform with the renowned cellist in Schloss Elmau, Germany.

Artistically inspired by the Chinese pianist Lang Lang, whom he met personally as one of a dozen selected talents to take part in the Allianz Junior Music Camp 2015, Jan Čmejla is widely regarded as one of the most talented pianists of his generation.
