簡介

When the moon gradually decreases from full moon to new moon, and then gradually increases back to full moon, "The moon wanes as it waxes", represents the changes and cycles in things, that even in seemingly incomplete states, they are still perfectly whole, but we are unable to directly observe their complete form.

In this exhibition, the artist captures a serene and detached ambiance by depicting the moon and the mudflat in monochromatic oil paintings. The moon and the flats are portrayed as distanced from the urban setting, akin to unknown territories, presenting daily scenes of virtual and realistic. Painting utilizes landscapes and objects as metaphors and symbols, including lanterns and potholes, to metaphorically represent nihility and loss in the Hong Kong city. The artworks convey the beauty found in imperfections and the subtle joys amid the mundane.

This series of works explore the subtle connection between humans and nature, emphasizing the changes and cycles of life, as well as the human desire for exploration of the unknown and freedom. Despite the fluctuations and apparent incompleteness that things may go through, they still embody the essence of original nature, possessing inner beauty and significance.
