Toolbox Percussion, media arts collective Dimension Plus and Singaporean composer Lee Jiayi transform a hidden hillside cavern into a striking chamber for a site-specific multimedia music journey.
Audiences travel through an approximately 100-metre-long tunnel with a specially designed rainstick and interact with percussionists to shape the sonic and visual landscapes. As the elusive ink projection, human silhouettes and rainwater ebb and flow, echoing the vagaries of the weather and the blurred boundaries between the natural and the virtual.
Around the world, secluded water facilities and infrastructure have been brought back to life, some of which have become unique art spaces. A popular film set, the instagrammable Western Salt Water Service Reservoirs are now open for the first time for public performances. After the Rain is a beautiful and fleeting encounter that envelops audiences with enchanting live music and interactive multimedia design, exploring the intricate relationship between humanity, technology and climate change. Audiences are advised to arrive at the venue early for admission.
