RE: Tai Kok Tsui - Ivy Says:

'Ivy Says:' is a community performing art project that connects people and the landscape based on the current appearance of the district and the changes in the coastline. Through artistic research, experiential workshops, and theatrical performances, it integrates the memories and imaginations of old and new residents of Tai Kok Tsui about this place. This creation uses performing arts to connect the elderly, children, and young artists as co-creators, creating a performative "impression map" of this place, listening to the mark of the past and dialoguing with the future.

Ivy Street is the first and only street in Tai Kok Tsui named after the plants found alongside it. After the reclamation, other streets were also extended, such as the ivy, forming the current landscape. Nowadays, the ivy has long been cut down. At the same time, the dockyards and shipyards have disappeared along with the former coastline, evolving into a cluster of hardware stores and workshops within the industrial area.

Starting from the factory district, passing through the West Kowloon corridor connecting to Cosmopolitan Estates, and ending at the former coastline, Ivy Street combines entertainment, education, and markets, Ivy Street has become a daily route for people of all ages at the intersection of industry and livelihood.

Interweaving the memories and imagination, how will the people of the future understand this place? Starting from the first street in Tai Kok Tsui, we try to re-imagine the imprint of this place...

The 'Ivy Says:' programme includes community workshops (Tai Kok Tsui residents to be a priority), facilitator workshops, public workshops, live performances, impression map public sharing.
