劉嘉恩

Hong Kong young pianist Lau Iris Ka Yan holds a Master Degree in Music Studies (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Winner of multiple prizes and scholarships, Iris has studied piano since the age of 3 and won her first piano award in the Asian Youth Music Competition at the age of 5. Her nine-year experience as the school choir pianist of Good Hope has played a significant role in further extending her talent in music and piano performance. Upon graduating from Good Hope School as the recipient of the Music Tuition Scholarship and the Academic Excellence Award in Music for three consecutive years, Iris pursued her Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Dr. Amy Sze. As a testimony to her efforts and growth, she was then granted the Molly McAulay Memorial Scholarship and the Chapple Bremner Scholarship which fully supported the tuition and living expenses of her Postgraduate studies in Sydney, Australia. On top of numerous solo performance experiences guided by Prof. Daniel Herscovitch, Iris also participated in several Masterclasses by Edward Auer, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Rita Reichman, Glenn Riddle, etc.

Iris is currently based in Hong Kong as an active solo performer, chamber musician and educator.
