Seasons of Schubert: Departure
The first of a three-year project on Schubert, ‘Departure’ brings us into the world of Schubert, from his unsettling journey in the Four Impromptus D899, courageously imaginative Wanderer Fantasy D760, and the haunting C Minor Sonata D958, the first of his last three sonatas.
Seasons of Schubert is KaJeng Wong’s latest project centred upon the theme of death and mortality through the music of Schubert. Through his late sonatas, impromptus, Wanderer Fantasy and the transcription of Winterreise, we are touched once again by the emotional world that is as lonely as everyone at their most vulnerable.
