"I remember going to Hong Kong as a kid, I had a tiny digital camera from tescos that my sister convinced my mum to let me have. I began shooting everything.
At 16 I went back every summer to look after my grandma, at 22 I took a step back from fashion photography and began my journey into personal work. I photographed my heritage, I spoke about things through photography I couldn't speak about in person. I photographed people I loved, people who had died. I created series like "coming out in china" which was a photo series/letter to my dad announcing to him I was gay, which was later published across Hong Kong. I dressed in my mums clothing to grieve her and to denounce male Chinese masculinity ideologies I didn't agree with and accept my own homosexuality."
