Annabelle Dvir is an Israeli-Georgian choreographer, voice artist, live sound composer and dance performer, director of her ensemble WOMAN OF SOUNDS. Through the tension between sensation and perception, the heard and the seen, she creates physical-vocal practices and examines new esthetics that merge the feminine reality with fantasy, sci-fi and storytelling. Composing the embodiment of sound frequencies and the visual shapes of alternating soundscapes in order to transform human preconception, emotions and inner desires. Delves into the forces of the desired and risked, the tribal and ethnic.
Annabelle earned her MA and BA with Dean's honors from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and graduated from the KELIM Center's Choreography Program. She is the winner of the 2022 Israeli Minister of Culture Award and prize, The 2018 ImPulsTanz DanceWEB scholarship Vienna, The Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports Creative Grant for Outstanding Emerging Choreographers, The Gertrud Kraus scholarship 2015, and The Art Excellence Award of Holon Municipality in 2017 and 2014.
Her stage work and practice are presented both nationally and abroad: Germany, Singapore. Croatia, Italy, Georgia, Denmark, Spain, Lithuania and France. A member of The Israeli Choreographers Association, and CAMPI - Jerusalem Dance and Performance Community.
