Overview

*The event will be conducted in Cantonese

【Made in JCCAC】is a once-a-month cultural experience organised by the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre ( JCCAC ). It consists of two parts:
JCCAC and studio tour
Creative art experience workshop

A factory-turned-vertical arts village, JCCAC is a local landmark and a product of the successful architectural revitalisation initiative which rejuvenated the heritage building and gave it new purpose and meaning through public engagement in the arts. In each edition of the guided tour, our tour guide will take participants on a journey of exploration through myriad exhibition spaces to soak up JCCAC's vibrant and creative atmosphere.

For the creative art experience workshop, the theme is different each month. Each time a JCCAC artist would share experience and insights into their fields of expertise, provide some on-site demonstration and lead visitors to try their hands at a bit of light experience creative work in an arts-themed workshop. Visitors may also have the rare opportunity of taking a glimpse at the unique work environment of artists' studios.

Early registration for participation is advised, as the tour and workshop groups are kept small and intimate.

A different theme is offered for the workshop in each month. The themes are revised every three months and announced on JCCAC' s social platforms - do follow to receive the latest news.

Capacity for each tour: 18 participants
*If you have participated in the JCCAC guided tour before and only want to attend the workshop this time, participants can register through the same link. Generally, the workshop meeting time is around 3pm. Participants will receive a reminder message two days before the event to confirm the meeting time and location.

Workshop Theme: Emulsion-Free Screen Printing × Kraft-Tex Passport Cover Workshop*

Summer holiday is coming – it's the perfect time to travel! Want to create a one-of-a-kind passport cover to take with you? In this workshop, participants will create a personalized passport cover using Kraft-Tex (washable kraft paper) and an alternative, emulsion-free screen-printing technique. We'll start by stitching the cover using the saddle stitch method. Once the basic structure is done, participants will design their artwork by drawing fluid on the screen, preparing the stencil using screen filler, and finally printing their design onto the cover to complete a unique and functional travel companion.

* Participants must be at least 13 years old, otherwise they must be accompanied by parent ( who will not be charged a fee ) and the duo will work with and receive only one set of the workshop product.

Workshop Theme: Japanese Origami Crane with Silver Chain*

According to the legend, anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes can have a wish granted, such as longevity for the elderly or recovery from illness for the sick. The crane not only expresses blessings for people, but has also become a symbol of peace. Inspired by Japanese artist Naoki Onogawa, who incorporates origami cranes into his works, participants will learn to use UV resin to integrate origami cranes with a Japanese aesthetic into jewelry, offering wearers a sense of memory and blessing.

* Participants can be accompanied by parent ( who will not be charged a fee ) and the duo will work with and receive only one set of the workshop product.
