The Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Music proudly presents Colla Voce 2025, an annual choral concert that celebrates the remarkable talent of its three distinguished choirs: Cantoría HK, Polymnia, and the Choral Union, on April 17, 2025, Thursday 8pm, in the Hong Kong City Hall.
Centered on the theme of "Peace on Earth", the concert invites the audience on a profound emotional journey, exploring the depths of intense passion, savagery, darkness, while also uplifting the spirit of faith, hope, and reverence. The repertoire showcases a range of choral masterpieces, including Friede auf Erden by Arnold Schoenberg and Warum ist das Licht gegeben dem Mühseligen by Johannes Brahms, performed by Cantoría HK. The female chamber choir, Polymnia, will present works such as Veni Domine by Felix Mendelssohn and Da Pacem Domine by Charles Gounod. Both choirs will perform under the baton of Dr. Po-Kwan Law.
In addition to these timeless classical works, the Choral Union led by Mr. Eric Monson will feature mesmerizing choral arrangements of popular music. Highlights include "Honourable Years ( 光輝歲月 )" by Beyond and Wong Ka Kui, as well as "When You Believe" by Stephen Schwartz.
