Overview

This year marks the 65th anniversary of The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong. To commemorate the occasion, the organization will host the symposium "Connecting Lives: Suicide Prevention in a Changing Global Context" on September 13, 2025. The symposium will bring together experts, scholars, practitioners, and service users to discuss the latest developments and practical experiences in the field of suicide prevention. The event has received strong support from organizations such as The Community Chest ,the Connecting hearts, the Greater Bay Area Mental Health Collaboration Platform, the University of Hong Kong's Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, Suicide Prevention Services, and Befrienders Worldwide.
