Step into the vibrant world of Commedia dell'Arte, the 16th-century Italian theatre tradition that continues to inspire actors, storytellers, and performers around the world. In this 2 hour workshop, theatre-maker Amanda Lee will introduce participants to the history, style, and spirit of Commedia through playful exploration and practical exercises.
Trained in Italy under master Antonio Fava, Amanda brings first-hand experience of the form's masks, archetypes, and improvisational energy. Participants will be guided through dynamic improvisation exercises designed to unlock creativity, physical expressiveness, and ensemble awareness. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to play.
The workshop lasts approximately 2 hours.
Conducted in Cantonese and English.
Target participants: Ages 16 and above; basic theatre training is preferred.
