The dream of Zhuangzi unfolds as a poetic journey through illusion and awakening — a philosophical dream brought to life through the art of puppetry.

This is a puppet theatre unlike any other. Through Zhuangzi's dream, the performance blends traditional puppetry with live music, lighting, and stage design — a cross-regional collaboration among artists and musicians from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Songs are sung in the Minnan dialect. The work drifts between dream and reality, presence and absence, for audiences to encounter the living soul within the puppets. This is a performance where ancient philosophy meets contemporary art, and where the boundaries of time, language, and culture dissolve like a dream at dawn.
