Taipei-born and Los Angeles-based, Ponpon Chen is a jazz vocalist and guitarist known for her warm stage presence and distinctive blend of voice and guitar. Inspired by jazz greats such as George Benson and Ella Fitzgerald, she brings together traditional jazz, swing, scat singing, guitar improvisation, and whistling to create a sound that is both timeless and uniquely her own.
Ponpon has performed extensively throughout the United States, appearing in venues and festivals across New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She was also featured on the recording of the closing theme for ABC's World News Now. In 2026, she completed her debut album, featuring internationally acclaimed jazz musicians Benny Benack III and Joel Frahm.
This program will feature a collection of classic jazz favorites as well as selections from her forthcoming debut album, offering audiences a fresh and personal take on the jazz tradition.
