Hylozoism is a philosophy, a system that views all matter as alive. As objects are being created, used and destructed, the totality of creation form the "network of meaning" of living existences.
In the "network of meaning", artificial intelligence and robots created by technology and industries are all living existences in this world. When technology continues to advance and becomes our second skin, it becomes a "neo-nature" that is inseparable from us. In such case, how can we re-establish the relationship between man, survival and nature?
In this seminar moderated by Joel Kwong (curator at Microwave International New Media Arts Festival), local video art pioneer Ellen Pau will be joined by Keith Lam, curator of the current exhibition "Sensory Transcode" and media artist using technology as creative medium. Together they will share about their work and their views on the integration of art and technology, as well as discuss the subject of neo-nature.
