"Sensory Transcode" Artists talk on "The Network of Sensory Meaning in Daily Objects"Hong Kong Arts Development Council
Why do things exist? What is the meaning of the existence of things in relation to space and relationship? A "being" (or "living existence") appearing in a certain space is perhaps not just an object; but rather, objects are interrelated (especially in the same space) and together they form a "network of meaning" (Heidegger). In certain places and times, the network of meaning provides the text for reading certain states.
Artists Alain Chiu and Tung Wing Hong have both used daily objects as creative elements in the past as well as in the current exhibition, and they will speak about such works in this talk.
