Pearls are some of the most fascinating existences. They come in a variety of colors, contours and characters, yet each individual pearl is unique and beautiful - that echoes the chamber music written for marimba, the glorious instrument known for its warm tones and rich timbres.
Pearlescence features an evening of chamber music for marimba and various instruments. Together, the award-winning percussionist Samuel Chan and the musicians from NOVA Ensemble will present works from the lyrical masterpiece of Puts, to the whimsical works of Hoffman and Akiho.
The concert also features esteemed lighting designer Amy Chan, whose vivid creativity will highlight the luster of these musical hidden gems.
