In cooperation with the Historic Building Conservation Association, we are stepping out of our urban exhibition venues to the Hakka Village in Lai Chi Wo, Northeast New Territories, which has attracted much attention in recent years.
All of you are invited to make mud blocks commonly used in Hakka village houses! Through the explanation and demonstration by craftsmen and built heritage conservation practitioners, the participants can learn more about the Hakka village culture and architectural features of Lai Chi Wo. The mud bricks made by the participants will have the opportunity to be used in the landscape improvement projects in Lai Chi Wo Village. In addition to understanding the traditional Hakka construction methods, they can also contribute to the revitalisation of Lai Chi Wo Village!
The event is organised by the Heritage Building Conservation Association, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Countryside Foundation and 2 Square Metres.
