First Concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2009, violinist Daishin Kashimoto is also a globe-trotting soloist and chamber musician appearing in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. Next month, he will share the Grand Hall stage with Italian pianist Alessio Bax, winner of both the Leeds and Hamamatsu International Piano Competitions and a stellar chamber musician renowned for his exceptional lyricism and insight with consummate technique. The duo will present three hauntingly beautiful violin sonatas by Mozart, Brahms, and Prokofiev, offering us a chronological tour along the history of the genre’s stylistic development.
