Overview
"Vibraphonissimo" is a new project curated by Hong Kong's first and only jazz vibraphonist Lauren Yuen. Lauren is a classically trained percussionist, however aspires and devotes to bring new voices to Hong Kong’s art scene as a jazz vibraphonist.
In Italian, "issimo" carries the meaning of "the most" and "extreme". In this project "Vibraphonissimo", Lauren hopes to fully showcase and reveal the possibilities of the vibraphone to the audience of Hong Kong. Her music is a unique fusion of classical, orchestral, percussive and jazz elements, that adds up to a fresh and unique musical experience. The quartet, including outstanding jazz musicians Bowen Li, Samuel Chan and Justin Siu, is also going to perform classic tunes by Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Roy Ayers, Victor Mendoza, and Joe Locke.
Remarks:
- Concert duration is approximately 2 hours with an intermission.
- Recommended for ages 6 and above.
- Audience is strongly advised to arrive punctually. Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break.
- The presenter reserves the right to change the programme, artists and seating arrangement should unavoidable circumstances make it necessary.
