【Registration system opens: from May 15 at 10:30AM to May 16 at 6:30PM】

Alongside its modern skyline, Wan Chai District preserves many historic buildings and traditional culture, showcasing a blend of old and new. “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: ICH Highlight Tours – Wan Chai District” highlight two thematic routes in Happy Valley and Tai Hang. In Happy Valley, the route mainly reflects the area's rich history and multicultural fabric, exploring ICH items shaped by different communities and traditions.

ICH Items include the Traditional Architecture Preservation Technique, Egg Tart Making Technique, Hong Kong Style Milk Tea Making Technique, Tam Kung (Lord Tam) Festival in Wong Nai Chung, Diwali (Festival of Lights), Holi (Festival of Colours), Traditional Stone Inscription Carving Technique, and Gravestone Carving Technique.

*Details of the assembly and dismissal points will be provided to the successful applicants later.

Event Registration Guidelines:
1. The field trip is conducted in Cantonese and is free of charge.
2. Online registration is required. Each applicant can only register for a maximum of two persons in the same tour. Only one application per each e-mail address is allowed.
3. In case of oversubscription, all quotas will be allocated by open ballot. The open ballot will be held at Orientation Room 1, Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre at 2:30 PM on May 20 (Wednesday).
4. The registration system will be open from 10:30 AM on May 15 to 6:30 PM on May 16.
5. Successful participants will be notified by email on or before May 26 of the assembly time and point. If space is available, applicants on a waiting list will be notified via phone or email.
6. All applicants have the right to request access to and make correction of personal data as stated in this form in accordance with Section 18, 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Personal data provided in this form will be used for arranging the programme. All personal data will be destroyed within one month after the programme is completed.

Event Rules:
1. Please be punctual. Follow the instructions of the staff and visit along the designated route; do not enter restricted areas.
2. Please be considerate and avoid affecting the owners and occupants. Keep quiet and avoid noise disturbances when conducting field visits.
3. As the itinerary includes visits to religious venues, participants should dress modestly out of respect. Please wear loose, light-coloured tops and long trousers and avoid wearing skirts, shorts and sleeveless tops. Besides, some religious venues may observe traditional customs regarding access. Participants are kindly asked to respect local practices and follow any guidance provided on site.
4. Participants must maintain good personal hygiene and wear a mask if necessary.
5. Photography and videography will take place on the event day. The ownership of the recorded footage and photos belongs to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and may be used for promotional purposes by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office without further notice.
6. Applicants should assess their own physical condition and that of their accompanying person to consider whether they are fit to participate in the field trip. If in doubt, please consult a doctor. Applicants submitting the registration declare that they and their accompanying person are in good health and physically fit for the activity, and that they will assume full responsibility for the safety of themselves and their accompanying person. Applicants understand that they should consult a doctor prior to the event if they have any concerns regarding their physical conditions. In the event of any injury, illness, death, personal property loss, or financial loss suffered by the applicant or their accompanying person for any reason, the applicant agrees to release Hulu Culture and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office from any legal liability arising from their participation in this event, and to waive all related rights, claims, and causes of action.
7. Please take care of your personal belongings, wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sports shoes, and bring your own drinking water, rain gear, and mosquito repellent.
8. In view of safety, the organiser(s) reserve(s) the right to change the itinerary under special circumstances like bad weather or traffic conditions.

Special Circumstances and Inclement Weather Arrangements:
1. If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above, or Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, or "Extreme Conditions", is in force within 3 hours prior to the event, the event will be postponed or cancelled until further notice.
2. The organiser(s) will notify participants as soon as possible via email or phone if feasible.

The ICH items/visiting locations are subject to change without prior notice. In case of any disputes, the organiser(s) reserve(s) the right to make the final decision.
