A native of Taiwan, Andrew Jeng started his professional career by joining the Hangzhou Philharmonic as Associate Principal Trumpet in 2019. He received his bachelor’s degree at the Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied with Roy Poper and was the recipient of the Jimmy Stamp Award. He received his master’s degree at the Juilliard School, where he studied primarily with Mark Gould, and Ray Mase. Andrew played with many professional orchestras, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, among others. He has also participated in the Spoleto Festival USA, and the Music Academy of the West for a few summers.
Andrew is currently studying for a doctorate degree at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of former Cincinnati Symphony principal trumpet Phil Collins and Dr. Michael Mergen.
