LI Wei Han Rosanna

Born in Hong Kong, Rosanna is a ceramics artist and an art & design educator. In the 80s, she studied studio ceramics in both Hong Kong and United Kingdom. She taught at the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University between 1990 and 2016.

Li’s ceramic figures are characterized by their rustic charm. Full of cheerfulness and vitality, they demonstrate Li’s acute observations and reflections of everyday life of the common folks in the local communities. Some of her life-size public artworks are displayed at Yau Tong MTR Station (since 2005), on Lee Tung Avenue in Wanchai (since 2015), and at the Hong Kong International Airport in June 2022. Since 1985, Li has held 20 solo exhibitions and participated in over 185 group exhibitions across Hong Kong, Asia, Europe, and America.

Li also enjoys collecting ready-made daily life items, and often uses them in her art installations. Li has received numerous awards, including in 2005 the Secretary for Home Affairs Commendation Medal - Achievements in the Promotion of Arts and The Hong Kong Arts Development Council 14th “Artist of the Year Award in Visual Arts” in 2020. Her works are in the collections of many private collectors as well as in various museums in different cities. Li is a founding member and Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong

Society for Education in Art, a founding member, honorary adviser, former chairperson and currently vice-chairman of the Contemporary Ceramic Society (HK), and also currently a Museum Expert Advisor of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
