NHKP Baroque Chamber Orchestra

Established in 2022, NHKP Baroque Chamber Orchestra is the only professional baroque orchestra in Hong Kong that are composed of all Hong Kong musicians.

The orchestra focused on presenting top notch local soloists and bringing up young local talents. Previous solo artists include, Mr. Johnny Yu Sun (Solo Viola, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich), Mr. WONG Sze Hang (former Associate Concertmaster, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), Dr. Joseph Kam (Faculty, Chinese University of Hong Kong), Mr. Vince Chua (Hong Kong Sinfonietta), and rising artists Justin Pou (Viola) and Abbie Chan (Violin).

In the previous season, the orchestra held 4 concerts at Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall, Recital Hall, and Shatin Town Hall Auditorium and reached over 2000 audiences in 3 sold-out concerts and 2 school outreach events, with sponsorship from the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, the Consulate General of Hungary in Hong Kong, and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance Eileen Weiser EXCEL Fund.

Through performing in different concerts, the NHKPBCO not only brings the charisma of Baroque music to the Hong Kong audience but also showcases the performance levels of the new generation of Hong Kong musicians and thus the cultural strength of Hong Kong.
