Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra

Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra is a provincial professional orchestra approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in 2009, which is a non-profit institution. After years of unremitting exploration and pursuit, it has become one of the excellent professional symphony orchestras in China and has gradually established self artistic image in the international and domestic music circles. It is now held by Guo Yijiang as the head, accompanying the famous Chinese conductor Zhang Yi as the artistic director.

It has fulfilled the Chinese and western art development path since the establishment, in precise play western classical symphony works at the same time, it’s committed to the progression of the local symphony and launched large original symphonic works "Mountains and Seas", “Road of Tang Poem”, "Opera", "Lu Xun", "Liangzhu", "Motherland Feast" and "Canal Spirit","Above the Great Tide","Spring Warms Zhijiang"; Accompanying various original small and medium-sized symphonic works like "Poetry and Painting Zhejiang", "Spring Boudoir Dream", "Chaotianzi", "Changhuai Longing" and "Tea Emotion"; We have adapted a large number of symphonic works with strong regional cultural characteristics. Besides, we have formed a distinct artistic feature and condensed a unique artistic style which has been praised by the audience and experts.

We used to accompanied President Xi Jinping on his visit to Brazil, and our performances were highly praised by President Xi and other heads of states attending the BRICS Summit. Meanwhile, we have excellently completed the Hangzhou G20 Summit and other state performance tasks. We have undertaken the key promotion projects of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Provincial Committee and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism for many times, such as "Happy Spring Festival" and "Beautiful Moon". Our footprint has stepped throughout Italy, Austria, the Czech republic, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Belgium, Spain, Algeria, the United States, Brazil and Egypt, we have received performance evaluation by multinational music circles and audiences: "a young and vigorous orchestra, mixing the essence of classical music and mysterious oriental emotional appeal, presenting the wonderful music of the soul".
