胡萃華

Joshua Wolper is a Hong Kong-based director, actor, filmmaker, and performing arts educator. After training and working in San Francisco and New York City, he moved back to Hong Kong to continue his work in theatre, film and education. Passionate about the growth of future performing artists, he has designed and delivered numerous theatre and performing arts programs and initiatives, and is proud to be a long-term collaborator with S4A. This is the seventh S4A’s Annual Gala production that he has assistant directed for.

Over the past decade, Joshua has worked on a multitude of projects, ranging from large budget movies to primary school theatrical productions, and thoroughly enjoys them all. His play “The Light Dragon”, a multimedia stage production that explores the history of the Kowloon Walled City debuted at the Yuen Long Theatre in 2017, and re-ran in 2019 at Hong Kong City Hall. His weekly show “The Clumsy Gardener” ran for two years on the China Daily platform, with over 90 episodes. He is currently producing a documentary with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Design along with a Design Trust Seed grant on local soil health, social design, and how our every-day waste can enrich and enliven our soils.
Joshua continues to teach and direct with S4A, and looks forward to working with next year’s Gala performers in the upcoming school year.
